CASPERS WILDERNESS AREA
Caspers Wilderness Park is an 8,000 acre wilderness preserve nestled among canyons of the western Santa Ana Mountains. The park has many valleys that are full of Coastal Live Oak and California Sycamore trees. There is abundant wildlife and local foliage.
FULLERTON TRAILS
Fullerton is equestrian friendly with approximately 28 miles of scenic recreational trails spread throughout the city.
IRVINE PARK TRAILS
Irvine Regional Park is nestled among Oak and Sycamore trees. The hills surrounding the park are filled with a variety of wildlife. Trees and shaded turf areas provide a serene setting for horseback riding. Santiago Creek cuts through the middle of the park.
ORANGE PARK ACRES
Orange Park Acres is a separate community within the city of Orange. It is about 1.4 square miles in size and it is distinguished by it's larger lot sizes (20,000sf minimum) and equestrian zoning. It has horse trails weaving throughout and a public riding facility called the Mara Brandman Arena.
PETERS CANYON TRAILS
Peter's Canyon offers a variety of trails for equestrians. The park encompasses 340 acres of wilderness area. There are several trails including the East Ridge View, the Lake View Trail (overlooking the reservoir)and the Peters Canyon Creek Nature Trail.
SANTIAGO OAKS TRAILS
Alongside the Santiago Creek in the city of Orange sits the 1,269-acre Santiago Oaks Regional Park. It offers equestrians the natural charm of mountains, an orange grove, a creek and a forest area. Head up over the reservoir on the back side of the park to enter into Irvine Park. The trails are endless and offer some shade and some water on a hot summer day.
YORBA LINDA TRAILS
Yorba Linda has a citywide system of coordinated trails for use by hikers, bikers, and equestrians. It has a local, city run equestrian center at 18661 Buena Vista and a 91 acre lakebed wilderness area off of Buena Vista and Lakeview. It also borders Chino Hills State Park with several areas to park for easy entrance, inlcuding a formal staging area off of Quarter Horse Drive.
